Vale won their game at Blackpool 2-0. The Seasiders were leaders for so long this season but are now fading away and on recent form will very soon be in a mid-table position. They are, however, just six points behind us, as are Oldham, but with both having lost their games they don't look likely contenders.
The game of the day on Saturday just had to be the clash between Morecambe and Walsall. Prior to the game Walsall had conceded just 21 goals all season, a record bettered only by Burnley and Port Vale, but that defensive record went for a burton as they were beaten 8-5.
Well done Tranmere. Bottom of the league with only one win all season they travelled to Carlisle and grabbed their second win. They are still bottom but now only four points behind Accrington who were beaten at home by Macclesfield.
The other winners were Wigan and Preston and not forgetting the wins for Bury and Burnley during the week. We've got a trip to Wigan this coming Saturday as we look to cement our place at the top.
The latest results and fixtures are shown below along with Burnley's goalscorers and links to the fixtures, results and league tables for both the youth and reserve teams.
