He's already won the man of the match vote for the home games against Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday and added to that by winning the Derby away vote, and now he's made it four successes, also again winning the player ratings.
He was a big winner in the man of the match vote, claiming 59.9% to take that first place and it probably comes as no surprise to see debutant Joey Barton come second with a 14.4% share. Despite us losing those two early goals, defenders take the next two places with Michael Duff in third place with 6.3% of the vote and a 5.9% share giving Ben Mee fourth place.
It is the same top two in the player ratings but this time the result was very close; Darikwa just edging out Barton, the pair having ratings of 7.57 and 7.55 out of 10. David Jones, who has been in excellent form in the midfield, took third place with a rating of 7.00 with goalkeeper Tom Heaton coming fourth; his rating was 6.67 out of 10.
Darikwa wins the maximum ten points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year. Barton picks up six points in his first game and there are two points for both Duff and Jones with one each for Heaton and Mee.
That was the fourth and last game of September with Darikwa winning 30 points from the four games, thus becoming the player of the month by some distance. These latest points have also taken him to the top of the player of the year table, moving six points ahead of previous leader Michael Keane.
Currently, the vote is ongoing for the goal of the month with five potential choices.
