He's had a bit of a nomadic existence since leaving Aston Villa in the summer of 2007 at the conclusion of his loan with Burnley.
He spent a year with Qatar Sports Club before moving to Odense Boldklub in Denmark. Since, he's played for Hapoel Tel Aviv and Partizan Belgrade but was released by the Serbian club in December having failed to reach the group stages of the Champions League.
Djemba-Djemba joined Burnley in January 2007 on a loan deal from Aston Villa and made his debut against Southampton on the following day along with goalkeeper Mike Pollitt who had signed on loan from Wigan.
He played a total of 15 games for the Clarets and was influential in our recovery at the end of the season when we won five out of six games to end any potential relegation worries.
We were keen to sign him permanently that summer following his release from Villa but difficulties away from football made it unlikely that he would continue his career in England at that time.
Now aged 32, he's become a team mate of Steven Thompson and will wear the number 99 shirt at St. Mirren.
