Blackpool, beaten only once in the league all season, were beaten at home by Bury who for most of the season have been languishing close to the bottom of the table. Not quite as big a surprise, but a surprise none the less, was Oldham's away win against Rochdale, this result allowing us to move up a place.
The big win of the day went to Walsall who hit poor Stockport for seven whilst Port Vale's win against Wigan ensured they remain unbeaten this season.
Shrewsbury beat Macclesfield 2-0 but their nine goals so far this season is the lowest in the league. However, they've conceded just eight goal and have the best defensive record by far.
Preston were the other winners, beating Accrington, and after a start to the season that saw them hit rock bottom they have now recovered somewhat.
Burnley don't play again for another three weeks when we travel to play Accrington Stanley, but there is, otherwise, a full fixture list this coming weekend. Those fixtures are shown below along with the weekend's results and Burnley's goalscorers.
