Burnley won through on Saturday with a 3-1 win against league leaders Blackpool and will now face a Wigan side who beat former Football League club Grimsby Town at home.

It is one of three all North West ties with Oldham facing Rochdale and Preston paired with Macclesfield. Oldham and Rochdale both won away from home with Oldham netting five in their victory at Walsall as Rochdale secured their place with a win at Stockport.

Preston were one of two sides to see their games go to a penalty shoot out before winning. They saw off Carlisle in their shoot out and Macclesfield enjoyed a win at Morecambe.

The last of the quarter-final ties sees Darlington play Morecambe. Darlington overcame Tranmere but for Morecambe it was, like Preston, a penalty shoot out before they knocked out Hull City.

The full draw is shown below and the ties will be played on Saturday 11th December.

Before that, Burnley have three league games to play against Oldham, Rochdale and Preston. All three, like the cup tie, are away from home with the first of them at Oldham this Saturday.
