Ross Wilson - played in Wednesday's win at Macclesfield
With Wednesday's win at Macclesfield, Burnley have now beaten three of those four with Wrexham the next opponents on Tuesday of next week at Turf Moor.

The first of the week's games was that between Shrewsbury and Morecambe, moved forward a day to Tuesday and it ended in a 2-2 draw. Benjamin Van Den Broek got both goals for the home side with Adam Rundle and Stuart Hendrie netting for Morecambe.

The other four games were played a day later with wins for those three clubs who have now climbed above Macclesfield on goal difference.

Oldham were easy winners at Accrington but that didn't look likely after a dire first half that ended 0-0. That all changed in the last 20 minutes or so. Deane Smalley broke the deadlock, breaking through the middle of the Stanley defence to finish past Ian Dunbavin, and a minute late Joe Jacobson doubled that lead with a screamer from distance.

The home side were reduced to ten men when Chris Turner was sent off for raising his hands and trialist Philip Morris added a third for the visitors, like the first goal it came as they run through the home defence.

It was the same scoreline at Preston, and this one was played at Deepdale. The home side welcomed back Barry Nicholson after a five month absence through injury. It was his first appearance since his second broken leg at the end of last season.

North End dominated the game from start to finish and were in front as early as the 17th minute through a left foot shot from Jamie Douglas. Two goals from first teamer Paul Parry completed the scoring before half time. He got his first with a header and then hit home a free kick from just outside the box.

That left the Wrexham v Bury game with Bury looking for their first point of the season. They didn't get it. The Welsh side were a goal up after just six minutes through Adrian Cieslewicz and Kevin Gall doubled that lead on 20 minutes.

Cieslewicz got his second with seven minutes of the first half remaining but soon after it was 3-1 as Wade Joyce reduced the arrears from the penalty spot. Two goals from Mathias Pogba in the second half completed the scoring.
