Stephen Ward is in the Republic of Ireland squad

Ward missed the trip to Southampton on Saturday with an injury that had kept him out of training last week, but he's been included in Martin O'Neill's squad for their home qualifier against the Poland to be played at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Sunday 29th March.

He's won 29 caps for his country. The first came against Northern Ireland in the Nations Cup back in May 2011, and his last five caps have been won since signing for Burnley, becoming just the second Claret, following on from Keith Treacy, to be capped by the Republic of Ireland whilst a Burnley player.

Cameron Howieson, meanwhile, has almost built up his own travel brochure with his international career so far. He's played nine times for New Zealand, all but one of them from the bench. His first cap was won in Houston, Texas and he's also played for his country in such as China and Saudi Arabia with also one cap won in his native New Zealand.

This time he's off to South Korea and he's joining up with a New Zealand squad that contains just six players currently playing their football in New Zealand and he'll be one of four English based players, the other three being goalkeeper Max Crocombe (Oxford), defender Winston Reid (West Ham) and striker Chris Wood (Ipswich).

Should he win his tenth cap, it will be in the World Cup Stadium in Seoul where they will play the Korean Republic on Tuesday 31st March.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Burnley squad are packing their bags for a trip to Spain for training with our next game not for another 13 days when we face Spurs on Sunday 5th April in front of the Sky cameras.
