Two young ex-Clarets on the move

Micah Evans was with the Clarets for the 2013/14 season having been released by our local rivals Blackburn. The right winger was with the development squad and featured in the behind closed doors games and those in the Premier League Under-21 Cup which ended with a semi-final defeat against Man City.

He was released at the end of the season and signed for Southport for whom he's played 13 Conference games and two FA Cup ties, scoring in 2nd round win against Eastleigh having played in the 1st round victory against League Two club Dagenham & Redbridge.

However, he and Southport team mate Johnny Lynch, have recently signed loan deals with Worcester City who are one division below in Conference North. Worcester boss Carl Heeley said of him: "Micah is an exciting winger who has got pace to burn and can chip in with a goal. That's something I think we have missed."

He's settled in well and scored his first goal for Worcester last Saturday, getting the second in a 2-0 win against Gainsborough Trinity.

Meanwhile, former youth team player Lewis Nuttall (pictured) has made an interesting move. Having spent a number of years in the centre of excellence at Burnley, he enjoyed his last two seasons as a scholar with the youth team but was released around a year ago.

In July he became part of the Glyndŵr Wrexham Football Academy, a ground breaking partnership between Wrexham FC and Glyndŵr University, the owners of Wrexham's Racecourse  Ground,  which would allow him to combine degree studies with playing football for Wrexham or one of their feeder clubs.

But news has just reached us that Lewis has now moved on and signed for Elpida Xylofagou, a Cypriot Second Division club who are based in the Larnaca district of the island.
