Jonay Hernandez Santos
They are Venezuelan left back Jonay Hernandez Santos and Peruvian midfielder Roberto Merino Ramirez who are both currently playing their football in Spain and could well have been the players Steve Cotterill went to take a look at back in May.

Hernandez Santos, a 26 year-old full international, has most recently been with Cordoba although until February of this year he had been playing his football in the SPL with Dundee. He played for the Dens Park club for almost three years and the last of his 74 league appearances for them came at the end of December in a 3-1 defeat at Kilmarnock.

He’s a regular for his country and has played in ten full internationals in the last year including two World Cup qualifiers in June against Uruguay and Chile. He can list Real Madrid and Tenerife as previous clubs.

Merino Ramirez, who plays under the name Robi Merino, is a 23 year-old midfielder who has played in Spain for Malaga, Mallorca and Barcelona as well as his most recent club Murcia and has also had a spell in Switzerland with Servette early last season.

Steve Cotterill said that they will be looking at the two players along with two more who are due to come in on trial next week.
