Stanislas is coming to town

The 21-year-old Londoner came through the system at West Ham but got his first taste of first team football during a loan at Southend in the 2008/09 season. Such was his impact that he soon won himself a place in the first team squad at West Ham on his return.

He made his Premier League debut in March 2009 and a few weeks later got his first start, scoring in a 2-0 win against Sunderland and then going on to score a winner against Middlesbrough.

The 2009/10 season proved to be his best with no less than 26 Premier League appearances of which 11 were starts. One of those starts was in our 5-3 defeat at the Boleyn Ground in November 2009 with Stanislas scoring the second of their five goals just before the half hour.

He was used as a substitute in the game at Turf Moor, coming on for Jack Collison just past the hour with Burnley having a 2-0 lead and on the way to giving Brian Laws his first win as manager.

Having had such a productive season under Gianfranco Zola, during which he enjoyed his 20th birthday, he was expected to step things up last season. Unfortunately he wasn't considered quite so often by Avram Grant and he made only four Premier League appearances, scoring once against Blackburn.

This season he's made just two appearances, starting the Carling Cup defeat at home to Aldershot and being used as a substitute in the 1-0 league win at Doncaster.

He now joins Eddie Howe's Burnley on a three year deal for an undisclosed fee.
