Shining light Dummigan to stay at Oldham?

All the feedback coming back from Oldham has been positive and the local press there have referred to him as an impressive right back who is now poised to stay on at Boundary Park with manager David Dunn in talks with Burnley.

One Oldham fan, posting on the Oldham Chronicle, wrote: "This lad is ace. Quit why he's not Burnley's number 1 is baffling. Maybe a surprise pack for NI in next year's Euro finals."

He's one of a number of loan signings made by Dunn, alongside Danny Lafferty, but he's already returned to Burnley last week with a recurrence of his shoulder injury.

But Dunn remains confident that he can keep Dummigan there longer and said of him, and others, "We are already planning and have asked the question on most of them. As you can imagine, the clubs are monitoring it every single week, how many minutes they are getting.

"We are dictated by the parent clubs so we will keep going. The signings have been really good and I've been very pleased with them."
