Player pages on the way back

Last updated : 14 June 2011 By Tony Scholes

Today begins the restoration of these pages after some considerable amount of work and the first 40 are now back online. The 40 are the players who played in post war football for Burnley during the 1940s; that is from the FA Cup ties in the 1945/46 season against Stoke City to the end of the 1949/50 season.

This, of course, includes all of the 1946/47 promotion and FA Cup Final team including captain Alan Brown whose profile has just been added and can additionally be found on the front page of the site.

Other players with profiles include Harry Potts and Jimmy Adamson, two more players who went on to manage the club, amateur Peter Kippax and stalwart Tommy Cummings.

When browsing through the pages you will see the names of those with profiles are shown in block capitals followed by the words 'Includes Profile'.

If you can provide any addition information for any of these players, or pictures for those without, or indeed if you would like to write a profile for any of them, please EMAIL it all to us at Clarets Mad.

All of the pages will be restored well ahead of the new season, with new pages added for any new signings, with the next set to include some from the 1950s.

The pages can be found in 'Past/Present Players' in the 'Players' drop down menu, or you can click HERE to go there directly.
