No immediate return for Nik the Greek

Nik has lost his place in the Palace side since Kolinko returned to action and has had to settle for a seat on the bench. However with Matt Clarke out for the season and Palace somewhat better off financially than the Clarets they can afford to carry a second goalkeeper.

It is looking increasingly likely that Marlon will be signing a deal soon that will keep him at the Turf until the end of next season and Nik's prospects of a return to first team action at Burnley don't look too good.

When Marlon returned in early September Stan said he had two top class goalkeepers but he soon made it clear who his first choice was by putting Marlon straight into the side despite having said that Nik was back to his best.

He has admitted it is not ideal having just one keeper and he even suggested that we could eventually get caught out. But no keeper on the bench is nothing new to us and we played the entire 1999/2000 promotion season with no bench cover for Paul Crichton. We do though have Nik on immediate call back.

Nik will now remain with Palace until virtually the end of the year and it remains to be seen what will happen then.
