Nizic has been signed by former Claret Steve Davis, the Crewe manager, on an initial month's loan and will challenge first team goalkeeper Ben Garratt during his stay at Gresty Road.

Besides being available for Crewe's league games, Burnley have given them permission to play Nizic in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and the Cheshire Senior Cup.

The 20-year-old Australian who joined up with the Clarets initially in 2012 having previously been with Portsmouth, has previously been out on loan to non-league clubs Chorley and Workington but this is his first move to another league club.

He's travelled with the first team on a number of occasions as third choice keeper behind Tom Heaton and Matt Gilks.
