New colours for next season

The 2007/08 season white shirt
It is the club's 125th anniversary in May and to celebrate that the club will be holding a number of events including a corporate gala dinner on the day, but for the fans it will be an opportunity to see the club play in other colours next season and at a Supporters Consultative Group meeting yesterday morning the members of that group were told that the team would play in green next season, one of the early colours worn by the club.

Away from home there will be two kits, one in amber and black and the other a white shirt which will have a claret & blue trim, the only one of the three kits to carry any of the club's current colours.

The 125th anniversary badge
Very much as Arsenal did last season when they wore their redcurrant shirt, it will be a one season only and for the 2008/09 season we will revert back to wearing claret & blue in home matches.

The news shocked the supporters present at the meeting who were shown an example of the white shirt, and some were very outspoken in condemning the idea, stating that the club should ALWAYS play at home in what are now the traditional claret & blue colours.

There will also be a one season only change of badge with the current club badge being retained but going gold and carrying a 125 in the centre.
