New clubs for Armstrong and Guinan

Defender Craig Armstrong (pictured) was at Burnley for a month around the new year period in the 1994/95 season, brought in as cover at left back. Now 36, he's taken his first step into management at Eastwood Town where he will be joint manager with Jamie Brough who has arrived from Hucknall Town.

Eastwood have just been taken over by an, as yet, unknown new owner but it will be a difficult start for Armstrong who has already seen his best two players follow former manager Paul Cox to Mansfield with the previous owner receiving the cash from those transfers.

Meanwhile Steve Guinan has wasted no time in finding a new club. He was an Adrian Heath loan signing at the back end of the 1996/97 season but didn't get a start in the first team. He's had a long career in the lower divisions and non-league and has been prolific in front of goal.

He started the 2010/11 season at Northampton. He played his last game for the Cobblers in the FA Cup against Forest Green, scoring in a 3-0 win. Three weeks later he was in the Forest Green side and made 18 appearances before being released.

Far from being forced down the football pyramid, having been released by a club who had just avoided relegation from the league he's now Kidderminster Harriers who just missed out on the play offs and are already being tipped as potential promotion candidates for next season.
