Jay Rod signs new deal

Jay initially became a full professional at the club in the summer of 2007, joining Steve Cotterill's squad after coming through the club's centre of excellence and then serving two years as an apprentice in the youth team.

He spent some of that first season in Scotland on loan at Stirling Albion and went on to make an impact in the cup competitions during our promotion season.

This season, however, is the one in which he's established himself in the first team and he's been a first choice for both Brian Laws and Eddie Howe since getting his first start of the season against Bristol City.

His current contract was coming to an end at the end of this season and there have been fears amongst some fans that we could lose him in the summer. That's not the case and this morning he's put pen to paper on this new two year deal, and that will be further good news for Burnley supporters.
