The news isn't a surprise. At the end of last season it was confirmed that the Duff was in talks with the club regarding a new deal and it was always expected that he'd sign it once pre-season was underway.
Now aged 37, he's a player who seems to get better with age and he'll be intending to push on and keep his place in the side and extend his appearances with the club to 358 of which 318 are in the league.
Somehow the squad list just wouldn't quite look right without Duff and it's good to know he'll still be with us next season as we look to push once more for a place in the Premier League.
