This decade saw a big change in that the turnover of players was greater and so we've split this decade, as we will with the following two decades, into two, with this first set the players who debuted for Burnley between seasons 1980/81 and 1984/85 inclusive.
That is another 45 players which includes Tommy Cassidy, David Holt, Steve Taylor and Ian Wood, who all made their debuts in the first game of the 1980/81 season, a League Cup game at Wrexham, through to Tony Chilton whose one appearance was towards the end of the 1984/85 season at home to Cambridge.

There are fourteen more profiles for the newly added players - for Wayne Biggins, Steve Daley, Lee Dixon, Willie Donachie, Joe Gallagher, Gerry Gow, Neil Grewcock, Kevin Hird, Tommy Hutchison, Ian Muir, Micky Phelan, Kevin Reeves, Trevor Steven and Alan Taylor.
There are now 219 profiles in total online and the 1980s will be completed on Thursday when those players who made their debuts from 1985/86 to 1989/90 will be added.
