Howe targets Blake

That tabloid is the Sunday People with the report under the name of Alan Nixon who reports that Howe saw Blake in fine form for Bolton's reserves last week and will now look to sign him on a loan deal to boost our squad.

Robbie, who is now 35, has of course been a massive crowd favourite at Turf Moor in his previous two spells. He was here from January 2002 to January 2005 before being sold to Birmingham City and then returned in the summer of 2007 and enjoyed a further three years as a Claret.

He opted for a move to Bolton in just over a year ago but he's played very little first team football recently. He was used as a late substitute in their opening Premier League game of the season at QPR and played the Carling Cup game against Macclesfield, but that's been his only first team football since January.

The last time he started a league game was our 6-1 home defeat against Manchester City in April 2010.

Bolton - Nixon - there is clearly more to this than pure speculation.
