Glen's chimes come to an end

Glen Little
After an injury plagued 2007/08 season, Glen moved to Pompey but made just six Premier League appearances the last of which was on Boxing Day last year against West Ham.

A loan move back to Reading proved to be disappointing with injuries again playing a part. He made five starts and four substitute appearances for the Royals, the last of them coming against the Clarets in the play off semi-final.

He looked a million miles off during that last half hour or so and was nothing like the Glen Little who I remember, and certainly not the one that had that wonderful spell in the 2001/02 season for the Clarets.

There were suggestions of Coventry being interested in him, but he's gone to Sheffield United on a two week trial and will travel to Malta with the Blades squad hoping to impress manager Kevin Blackwell.

Blackwell said: ""Glen is going to be spending some time with us and we'll see how things go. He'll be coming in with the rest of the lads and then he'll be coming abroad with us too."
