Long suffered an a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury on his Premier League debut on New Year's Day this year having come on as a substitute for captain Jason Shackell.

He's was declared fully fit by the Clarets a couple of weeks ago and with Michael Keane having a knock he was drafted onto the bench for our last game at Wolves.

He's played eight times for the development squad and joining the League One strugglers will give him the opportunity to play some first team football.

Long said: "I'm itching to play and I jumped at the opportunity to come out on loan and play. The gaffer here is a genuine guy and I know one or two of the lads here. It's a good fit for me.

"Even if I didn't know anyone here it's still a big club with good training facilities, it was kind of an easy choice."
