Dominic Knowles, after three years in League Two with Burton, has returned to Harrogate Town where he was playing when Brewers boss Gary Rowett took him to the Pirelli Stadium. During his time there, Dominic made 39 league appearances, scoring three goals.

Dominic Knowles has moved back to Harrogate

He's certainly settled in back at Harrogate and last Saturday scored a late winner for them against Hednesford, the stoppage time goal being described as a wonder goal. That's his second goal in three league games for them this season.

Joel Pilkington hung up his boots last November after a long spell with Ramsbottom, but the 31-year-old midfielder has been persuaded to come out of retirement and has signed for Nelson.

The third of them is Josh Cook who was the goalkeeper just over three years ago in our youth team that reached the semi-final of the FA Youth Cup. He wasn't offered a contract and has since played in non-league.

He's been playing for Salford City, who he joined from Warrington Town, but he's now returned to Warrington.

Finally, although not involved with our club, I noted Bacup Borough had signed a player by the name of Kelvin Trippier. I had to research this further and, yes, he is the older brother of former Claret Kieran.

Kelvin has a wealth of experience. He made almost 100 Football League appearances between 2004 and 2011 for Oldham, Rochdale, Chesterfield and Shrewsbury when playing under the name of Kevin Lomax, making his debut for Oldham alongside former Claret David Eyres.
