I suppose any last lingering doubts for those with their glass half empty were ended on Monday with our win against Wigan and for those whose glass was all but full our hopes of winning the title were ended last night when Leicester won 1-0 at Bolton.
I think only the meanest of Burnley fans would begrudge Leicester the title. Any team that can amass 96 points, more so with two games still to be played, are worthy champions and they are, in my opinion, the best team we've played this season even though things did go wrong for us in the recent home game against them with the loss of Sam Vokes so early in the game.
They are the team nearest to us in the way they play and this is a team that went on an amazing run of 21 games without defeat which coincidentally started with our draw at the King Power Stadium. There were no fewer than 15 wins in those games and a run of nine successive wins after that draw against us.
So, Leicester and Burnley will be in the Premier League next season. Derby and pre-season favourites QPR are in the play-offs with Wigan looking all but certain to join them; one win from the last three games will be enough.
Almost certainly QPR will face Wigan in the semi-finals but who will Derby come up against? Reading, who beat Middlesbrough last night, are in pole position right now but only one point ahead of Brighton, two ahead of Forest an Ipswich and then just behind come Blackburn and Bournemouth.
We'll have a say in that with both Ipswich and Reading still to play but it could go any way yet with any one of those six clubs making it.
Down at the bottom it looks to be over for Yeovil. Another home defeat on Monday has left them in search of a miracle to be honest. They would need to win both their remaining games to have a chance and then by some goals.
It's just going to be one season at this level for them, a remarkable achievement given the size of the club. I'm convinced that Barnsley will now be joining them. Again they would need to win their last two games to have any chance.
Then it's the last place. Blackpool are in there right now and the way they are playing the money should really be on them. However, they trail Birmingham only on goal difference and then there are Doncaster and Millwall within a point and Charlton with just one more point.
No other team can be relegated so it will be one of those five to head for League One next season with Barnsley and Yeovil, and none of the relegated clubs will have reached 50 points, a total that proved to be nowhere near enough to stay up a year ago when only one club, Bristol City, fell below that figure.
After this weekend there is just one more week remaining in the Championship before the end of season games start to decide who will join us and Leicester. That will be it for Championship reviews for some time, it's back to the Premier League for Clarets Mad.
