Burnley have today sold Danny Fox to Southampton in a shock deal that has seen the squad even further decimated following the recent sales of Tyrone Mears and Chris Eagles.

Only this week manager Eddie Howe has spoken of adding to the squad and that we were in talks with players. Signing players is something we've struggled to do all summer. Since the end of last season only Keith Treacy has been signed on a permanent basis whilst Ben Mee and then Kieran Trippier have come in from Manchester City on loan deals.
Now, with the season already underway, it leaves us looking for a left back along with all the other positions where we are currently short. With just 20 days left in the transfer window it means there is still some major rebuilding to be done to the squad.
Danny, I'm told was very happy at Turf Moor, but less than a week into the new season he's now become a Southampton player having moved to St. Mary's for an undisclosed fee which I believe to be very little over the amount we paid for him. He goes with our best wishes.
