Play it again Sam

Waldron scored our last winner at West Ham

It's the first time we've ever beaten an Allardyce team in the league but today was more about our Sam and the winning goal. He got the first in the 4-0 demolition of Ipswich and today came off the bench to get our winner after captain Chris McCann had headed a quick equaliser following Kevin Nolan's opener for West Ham.

For the second Saturday in succession I've had to take the game in via radio commentary whilst enjoying the banter on Clarets Mad. I've already had calls and texts telling me to stay away in future but I do plan to be at Brighton for the next away game.

I'm disappointed I missed this game, just as I was last week, but again I was jumping around when the winning goal went in although, unlike last week, there was some considerable time to endure after the goal before the win could be celebrated.

I feel certain that those Burnley fans there will have had a fantastic day, our first win at the Boleyn Ground since Colin Waldron scored in a 1973 1-0 win on a day when Ted McDougall was sent off.

This week has certainly changed our fortunes. Staring at the bottom three around 4:30 p.m. last Saturday we have now climbed into the top half of the league for the first time this season.

What a quick turn round in fortunes over just seven days and suddenly things are looking so much better with us now seven points clear of that bottom three and only five points from the play offs. It's looking better and I can't wait for the Portsmouth game next week.

A guest report will be on site over the weekend.
