The game was played in three periods of thirty minutes each with central defender Shaun Hobson (pictured) giving the Clarets the lead in the first period with United equalising before the break.

United then added two more in the second period to win the game.

The Burnley team was: Tony Aghayere, Olatunde Bayode, Shaun Hobson, Lewis Norvock, Aiden O'Neill, Jamal Crawford, Hamam El-Fitouri, Miles Fenton, Tyler Shrimpton, Tommy Wood, Khius Metz. Subs (all used): Andreas Bianga, Vashiko Dixon, Josh Dolling, Mark Howarth, Styles, Clarke, Marcel Wusiewicz, McNeil, Nashé Chakwana, Billy Grogan.

Further away friendlies have been confirmed against West Brom on 18th July and Preston a week later, with both kicking off at 11 a.m. but there is now no mention of the game at Nelson which looks as though it won't be going ahead with the confirmation of a trip to Austria for the youth team prior to the league season kicking off against Tranmere on 8th August.
