Youth team are back home to Gawthorpe this week

I saw the first home Youth Alliance League game this season, a 2-0 win against Blackpool that was played at Padiham FC's Arbories, and I was there for the next one in the Alliance Cup when we were beaten by Tranmere at the Rolls Royce Sports Ground.

We've also played at Nelson and at Carrington, prior to Bury moving in to the old Man City training ground, and more recently were forced to play the home game against Wrexham at their training ground.

I'm not certain but we've played either two or three games at Gawthorpe this season, this due to the work going on there to improve the facilities and create more pitches. It's even forced our younger players to train at such as Rolls Royce and Carrington over the season.

But, we're on our way home for the last league game of the season this Saturday when Fleetwood are the visitors. The game will be played at Gawthorpe with the usual 11 a.m. kick off.

With details of which of the second year scholars are to get contracts not yet released, this could be a last game at Gawthorpe for some of our young players. For others, it might even be the first time they've played a competitive game there.

Clarets Mad hope to be there to report on the game, something that, because of the circumstances, hasn't been possible as much as we'd have liked this season.
