Steven Hewitt - scored Burnley's first goal at Oldham

Oldham and Burnley got the week's fixtures underway on Tuesday afternoon as the Clarets second team came from 3-0 behind to earn a point in a 3-3 draw and it was the same result between Macclesfield Town and Wrexham 24 hours later.

Burnley had been involved in a seven goal game last time out at the Moss Rose, winning 4-3, but this time Macc restricted their opponents Wrexham to three.

It was Wrexham, again with Glen Little in the team, who took an early lead through Obi Anoruo, but the lead was short lived with Tom Fisher quickly drawing the home side level and that took the teams into the half time interval level at 1-1.

Wrexham again edged in front with Jay Colbeck on the scoresheet but again Macc came back as Fisher set up Jordan Trinci-Lyne to equalise. Macc went for a winner but were forced to come from behind again when Anoruo got his second from the penalty spot, and from behind they did come with Trinci-Lyne getting his second with the goal of the game.

On Wednesday evening, Tranmere needed a point to stay at the top and it looked to be going their way when Cole Stockton gave them the lead, but it was Preston who took the points when recent signing Keammar Daley netted twice to win the game 2-1.

Burnley are the team to miss out with the next set of fixtures in mid-October and so won't have a league game now until we entertain Morecambe on 8th November.
