McCartan and Howieson in for Clarets

First game for Cameron Howieson

Goalscorer last week was Jason Gilchrist and he, along with under-16 player Jordan Scott drop to the bench as Shay McCartan returns from international duty and Cameron Howieson gets his first competitive football in a claret and blue shirt.

Shay is back after playing for Northern Ireland in the qualifiers for the European under-19 tournament and his return will be welcome given his goalscoring record this season for both youth and reserve teams.

He's joined tomorrow for the first time by New Zealander Cameron Howieson who has had to wait patiently for his first game. He's one of five new scholars at the club this season and, like Luke Conlan before him, he's had to wait for international clearance before being allowed to play.

That came through this week and the frustration ends for him having previously only been able to play in friendly games and behind closed door fixtures.

Conlan, whose clearance came through a couple of weeks ago remains out with an injury whilst the latest recruit from Ireland, Luke Gallagher, is the latest to have to sit and wait for international clearance.

Under-16 Charlie Holt again starts whilst Scott joins another under-16 player in goalkeeper Callum Jakovlevs on the bench.

The Burnley team is: Josh Cook, Aryn Williams, Alex Coleman, Tom Anderson, Charlie Holt, Alex Mullin, Steven Hewitt, Archie Love, Adam Evans, Cameron Howieson, Shay McCartan. Subs: Callum Jakovlevs, Jack Errington, Jordan Scott, Jason Gilchrist.
