It's beginning to look grim at the bottom of the Pontin's

Luke Chadwick - two goals but another defeat
Earlier this season reserve team coach Ronnie Jepson claimed that results didn’t matter but that isn’t the case and after coming close to winning the league two years ago it is beginning to look a certainty that we will be going down this time.

We needed to beat Huddersfield at the Turf tonight but it was not to be and we fell behind after just ten minutes when Huddersfield scored from a corner. They hit the bar, then saw it cleared off the line before finally putting it in to give the Clarets an uphill struggle.

It all got worse too and just a few minutes later it was 2-0 as they got through the Burnley defence to score.

Another poor crowd of just 167 – many don’t even know the games are being played – looked set to see another big defeat but it is not many a reserve team that can be inspired by a loan signing from Manchester United.

Luke Chadwick, unable to get a first team game these days, it was who reduced the deficit with a delicate chip from the edge of the box before Huddersfield had even stopped celebrating their second.

And ten minutes before the interval he did it again, this time hitting home a rebound to bring the scores level.

It was all square at half time but although we pushed forward in the second half we struggled to create any real chances and substitute Alex Taylor came closest. Taylor and Joe Booth had come on just before the hour for the two trialists Alexander Davis and Matthew Shaw.

As the clock ticked down it was all Burnley, we needed a winner to at least give ourselves a chance for the rest of the season, but it all went horribly wrong as Huddersfield scored twice in the closing minutes.

It ended at 4-2, and that was our 11th defeat of the season in 18 games – but results don’t matter.

The teams were,
