Good week for top four in new look Alliance League

Luke Daly scored our second in the win at Wigan

The Football League have now confirmed that the league table is based on points per game rather than the number of points won. It is looking likely that some clubs won't complete their fixtures (each club has 24 fixtures).

Wigan are the closest to completing them; they've played 21 now but Macclesfield have played just 14 and still have ten fixtures remaining.

The new look table still sees Blackpool at the top and Oldham in second place, but just below it is Walsall, on 36 points, who are third rather than Rochdale who have three more points but have played three more games.

Leaders Blackpool beat Accrington while Oldham were successful against Wrexham. On Saturday, Walsall were winners against Shrewsbury with Rochdale beating Port Vale and then winning again yesterday against Bury.

Our win against Wigan was our first since we beat Preston on 9th November. On points we would be ninth in the league but we are ahead of North End. We've 23 points currently from 17 games, or 1.35 points per game.

Our remaining seven fixtures are all scheduled, with three of them in midweek. We travel to Morecambe this Saturday and next Tuesday are at home to Carlisle in one of the re-arranged fixtures.

In the other games played at the weekend, there were wins for all of Bury, Preston and Tranmere.

All the results are shown below along with this week's fixtures, our goalscorers and the new look league table.
