Evans on the goal trail again

He scored with a spectacular 30-yard volley last week just after coming on as a substitute. His goal today might not have been quite so stylish but it was worth a lot more to the team. It came after just 13 minutes as he came in at the far post to score after a Steven Hewitt shot had been saved.

McKee came very close to adding a second in what was a poor game but the score remained 1-0 at half time.

Josh Cook had a couple of saves to make in the second half but leading goalscorer Joe Jackson and Evans again came close but in the end we had to settle for just the one goal.

Now we await the result of the game between the top two, Port Vale and Rochdale. Either way we will have moved back up to second in the table.

Burnley lined up: Josh Cook, Ed Williams, Alex Coleman, Tom Anderson, Steve Edwards, Ross Wilson, Joe McKee, Steven Hewitt, Archie Love, Adam Evans, Joe Jackson. Subs: Alex Mullin, Curtis Woods, Dean Overson, Neil Yadolahi, Naylor.
