The young Clarets slipped to the bottom of the league last night with Morecambe beating Preston and, despite the league having no real meaning at this stage, they will be keen to see themselves move out of that bottom place.

Coach Jason Blake will again have trialists Anthony Glover and Ellis Deeney at his disposal in defence. There was speculation recently that Glover had actually signed a two-year deal with the Clarets but there has been no confirmation from the club.

The rest of the squad is made up of members of the development and youth squads with Dominic Knowles the most experienced member of the team.

Burnley will select from: Jon Stewart, Josh Cook, Aryn Williams, Alex Coleman, Anthony Glover, Neil Yadolahi, Ellis Deeney, Tom Anderson, Steve Hewitt, Archie Love, Dave Lynch, Mehdi Lazaar, Ross Wilson, Adam Evans, Shay McCartan, Dominic Knowles.

Macclesfield won their opener 3-2 at Oldham with goals from Adam Roberts, Jake Vernon and John Grant. Although they haven't confirmed their squad, manager Gary Simpson said it would be a similar line up.

"There's a few of the first team squad that need a run out, so the game has come at the right time," he added.

"At the same time it's also another chance for us to look at some of the youth team lads who did really well in the first game. That's what the Reserve team is all about and whilst the results aren't the be all and end all, it would be good to make it two wins in two as winning, no matter what level you are playing at, breeds confidence."

Kick off at Moss Rose is 2:00 p.m.
