| October Player of the Month Sam Vokes |
Left back Ben Mee won the man of the match. he secured 31.3% of the vote, ahead of central defender Jason Shackell who took second place with a 21.7% share. Right back Kieran Trippier came third with 12.1% of the vote with 9.6% taking fourth place for Keith Treacy whose evening came to a slightly early end with the red card.
The top two places were reverses in the play ratings. Shackell headed it with a rating of 8.17 out of 10 with Mee in second place; his rating was 7.52 which was just ahead of Sam Vokes whose 7.43 won him third place. The fourth place in the player ratings, with 7.38 out of 10, went to Trippier.
Both Mee and Shackell have won eight points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year. Tripper collected three points and there were two for Vokes and one for Treacy.
This game was the last in October with Vokes just beating Shackell as the Clarets Mad Player of the Month. It's the second successive month that Vokes has come out on top. He scored 21 points from the five games in October; that was one more than Shackell and three more than David Jones who missed the West Ham game through suspension.
Vokes might well have been the player of the month but the player of the year table still sees Shackell in pole position. He's ten points ahead of Vokes and a further seven points in front of Danny Ings.
