Strikers take the plaudits in Loftus Road draw

Last updated : 13 February 2014 By Tony Scholes

Despite getting both goals, Vokes had to settle for second place in both the man of the match vote and the player ratings as his partner Ings took all the plaudits after another outstanding performance.

He polled 48.7% of the man of the match vote with Vokes coming in second with a 21.5% share. Central defender Michael Duff took third place with 9.1% and 6.2% of the vote saw Kieran Trippier win fourth place.

There was no stopping the front two and they were well clear in the player ratings too. Ings, again the winner, had a rating of 8.64 out of 10 with Vokes coming in second again; his rating was 8.31.

Trippier clinched third place with 7.57 and a rating of 7.45 out of 10 ensured a fourth place finish for Dean Marney.

This gave Ings the maximum ten points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year. Leader Vokes collected six points and there were three points for Trippier, two for Duff and one point for Marney.

It's allowed Vokes to take a sixteen point lead at the top ahead of Jason Shackell with Ings now only a further ten points behind in third place.

The result for the Millwall game will follow tomorrow while voting continues for the Bolton game played on Tuesday.
