It really was poor stuff from the Clarets with manager Sean Dyche highlighting the performances of his two central defenders Michael Duff and Ben Mee, and it is no surprise that the pair have taken the top two places in both the man of the match vote and the player ratings.
Mee won both with Duff following in second place. In the man of the match vote he was an easy winner, receiving 42.2% of the vote with Duff coming second with a 16.4% share. Tendayi Darikwa was third with 8.6% and George Boyd collecting 7.8% of the vote to finish fourth.
The player ratings were low with only Mee scoring over the average six out of ten and only three other players even reaching five.
Mee's rating was 6.33 out of 10 with Duff behind him with a rating of 5.89. Stephen Ward, who came in at left back, took third place with a rating of 5.44, just ahead of the 5.33 out of 10 that won Sam Vokes fourth place.
The maximum ten points go to Mee who now goes top of the early Clarets Mad Player of the Year Table with these first points of the season for him. Duff won six points and there were two each for Darikwa and Ward with both Boyd and Vokes winning one point each.
The Birmingham voting is currently in progress and will remain so until the end of tomorrow, after which the vote will get underway for the man of the match at Ipswich.
