Heaton's the goalkeeper choice - now for the right back

Only one of the other four, Brian Jensen, offered any sort of challenge with the other three netting little over two per cent of the vote between them.

Heaton stormed to the top immediately, and never relinquished his lead, ending the vote with a 76.3% share. Behind him was Brian Jensen, the new Crawley goalkeeper, with 21.5% of the vote.

As for the others. Lee Grant, first choice goalkeeper for three seasons from 2010 to 2013 was only able to win one per cent of the vote but even that was better than Gabor Kiraly and Danny Coyne who received only 0.7% and 0.5% of the vote respectively.

Tom Heaton it is then who takes the first position in the team of the last ten years and now it is time to select your right back.

You may wonder where there is no sign of either Michael Duff or Graham Alexander in the vote. The reason is simply that Duff has played more games now in the centre of defence and Alexander played most of his games for Burnley in a midfield role. They will be included in those votes.

That leaves just a choice of four players. The first of them is Lee Roche was vied with Duff for the right back slot in the 2004/05 season having already been at Burnley for a year.

The next three and a half years was spent with no one player holding down the right back position. Duff and Alexander both played there as did Frank Sinclair so the second choice is Rhys Williams, a player who only arrived at Burnley in January 2009 on loan from Middlesbrough and played out the remainder of the regular league season at right back, missing out on the play-offs.

Since, however, it has been one of the most stable positions at the club. Tyrone Mears was signed in the summer of 2009 and missed only two league games in two years before his move to Bolton.

Kieran Trippier was his replacement , initially signing on loan from Manchester City before the deal was made permanent in early January 2012. Until recently he'd missed only one league game but was ruled out for five games with a hamstring injury in March and April.

Those are you choices - Lee Roche, Rhys Williams, Tyrone Mears and Kieran Trippier - and you have until the end of Friday to cast your vote, after which attention will turn to the left back position.
