It was certainly a productive month as far as goals are concerned and for the next three days you have the opportunity to vote for the one you thought was the best out of a selection of eleven.
The month started with a 2-0 win against Derby. David Jones scored his first Burnley goal with a sublime finish to give us the lead with Dean Marney converting from close range following a corner to complete the scoring.
Then it was off to Ewood Park where a Jason Shackell header from a Ross Wallace free kick, and a Danny Ings shot turned things round to give us a 2-1 win having fallen behind in the first half.
Birmingham was the next port of call. Three times we led before having to settle for a draw. Marney got the first, capitalising on a poor defensive header. Then it was the turn of Michael Duff, heading home a free kick, before Sam Vokes got on the end of a Junior Stanislas cross to turn in our third at the near post.
The home game against Leeds saw us again come from behind. The first, and not included in the vote, was a Jason Pearce own goal, but the second from Scott Arfield is very definitely included as he fired home right footed after his left foot shot had been blocked.
Ashley Barnes got his first Burnley goal at Charlton, heading in a Stanislas cross. The second was a Vokes penalty and the last goal, right at the end, was scored by Michael Kightly following a left wing corner.
There were two more goals to come. Another Vokes penalty against Doncaster was followed by a Stanislas finish following a build up including Barnes and Jones, and that proved to be our last goal of the month.
Taking away the own goal and the penalties that's a total of seven with only one from Ings and only one from Vokes. Marney is the only player to have scored twice with the other seven goals coming one each from Jones, Shackell, Duff, Arfield, Barnes, Kightly and Stanislas.
