Goal of the Month and just four goals

We actually scored seven times in four league games during the month but there were two penalties and an own goal included leaving just four from Danny Ings, Sam Vokes and Scott Arfield.

The first day of the month took us to the top of the league with a 2-0 win at Doncaster. The first goal was a Vokes penalty with the late second coming via a Rob Jones own goal, so the first two qualifying goals came in the home win against Reading.

Ings scored the first when he got on the end of a Kieran Trippier cross that had eluded two Reading defenders and the second, ten minutes from time, saw Vokes finish expertly after being played in by Ings.

Arfield's goal came in the 1-0 win at Ipswich, an outstanding header into the corner from another Trippier free kick and the last qualifying goal was Ings' first against QPR which came when Keith Treacy and Dean Marney combined to get the ball back with Marney playing it to Ings.

The strike pair then took over with Ings finding Vokes who returned the ball with a superb reverse pass with Ings getting in front of the defender to score. The second QPR goal, our last of the month, was, like the month's first goal, from the penalty spot.

Voting is now open from the front page or the VOTING POLLS page and will run until the end of Friday.

The winning goal will automatically be included in the Goal of the Season vote next May.
