Elliott joins ten year team

No other member of that Wembley team had taken their place in this team, but Wade, who spent just over six years at Burnley, stormed it, leading the field of ten with a massive 68.9% of the vote.

From the start of the vote it was clear it was going to be a one horse race and that's how it proved with Scott Arfield, one of our big successes from last season, coming in second with just a 15.3% share of the vote.

They were the only two players to reach double figures. Chris Eagles was third with 7.4% followed, followed by Michael Kightly, who scored three goals in three games as promotion was clinched, in fourth place with just 3.0%.

Graham Branch was next with 2.1%, then Jean-Louis Valois, who secured 1.5% of the vote. The last four all got less than one per cent; they were Ross Wallace (0.7%), Junior Stanislas (0.5%) and both John Oster and Keith Treacy (0.3%).

We've got eight players now with just three to go. Those already in the team are Tom Heaton, Kieran Trippier, Gary Cahill, Jason Shackell, Ben Mee, Wade Elliott, Dean Marney and David Jones.

The ten below Elliott in the vote have now been placed in the second wide midfielder vote which is now live.

You can vote via the front page or the VOTING POLLS page and the vote will run until the end of Tuesday with the first of the striker votes getting underway on Wednesday.
