Michael Keane was the top player in both, and that wasn't a surprise. He was very much on top form as was Michael Duff alongside him and, for me, they and Ben Mee were our top performers on the day.
Keane won the man of the match with 28.2% of the vote. It wasn't too far ahead of Joey Barton who surprisingly finished second with a 22.4% share. Duff and Mee followed; Duff was third with 14.1% and Mee took fourth place with 9.0% of the vote.
Those three players took the top three places in the player ratings with Keane securing a rating of 7.57 out of ten in first place. Mee was second with a rating of 7.14 with Duff not so far behind with 7.07. Goalkeeper Tom Heaton, who had a couple of saves to make and looked assured all afternoon, was fourth with a rating of 7.00 out of 10.
Keane's ten points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year have taken him back to the top with a lead of five points over Tendayi Darikwa who is now just four points ahead of Michael Duff who won four points, as did Mee.
Barton's three points and the one won by Heaton have taken them to joint fifth. The pair are just two points behind Andre Gray who had a quieter game on a day when defenders really were very much on top.
We won't have another man of the match vote now until a week on Sunday after the Brighton game but you can currently vote for your choice for the October Goal of the Month with a choice of seven goals.
