That group of five players have taken all the points on offer towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year after the top four in each of the man of the match vote and the player ratings came from those five players.
And it was Tendayi Darikwa who came out on top in both to take the maximum ten points towards the player of the year. He won the man of the match with 36.5% of the vote, ahead of Michael Duff, Sky's choice on the night, who came second with 22.0%. Ben Mee, my choice, was third with an 18.4% share and that left the one remaining member of the back four to take that last place; Michael Keane claiming 6.3% of the vote.
Mee didn't make the top four in the ratings. He was replaced by Tom Heaton, but it was Darikwa on top again with a rating of 7.69 out of 10. It was close between the top four. Heaton was second with a rating of 7.64 and was followed by the two central defenders Duff and Keane who had ratings of 7.53 and 7.49 out of 10.
Besides the ten points for Darikwa, Duff won five points, Heaton got three and there were two points each for Keane and Mee. Added to the player of the year table and it takes Darikwa within two points of Keane at the top. They are some way ahead with Duff currently in third place but twenty points behind leader Keane.
The vote is still in progress for last Saturday's game against Reading.
