Midfielder Jones and left-back Mee could hardly be separated. Mee won the man of the match vote, just. He received 24.0% of the vote with Jones right behind with a 23.4% share. Ashley Barnes, making just his fourth Burnley start, was third with 19.8% whilst a share of 8.5% was enough to give Arfield fourth place.
The top two couldn't be separated at all in the player ratings. Given the circumstances, I thought the ratings were somewhat low with no player reaching seven. Jones and Mee both had ratings of 6.90 out of 10 to take joint first place. Goalkeeper Tom Heaton was third with a rating of 6.69 and Barnes took fourth place, his rating was 6.57 out of 10.
This gave Mee the maximum ten points towards the player of the year. Jones won eight points and there were three points for Barnes, two for Heaton and one for Arfield.
Arfield was three points clear of Sam Vokes ahead of the game for the March player of the year and that extra point ensured he won it with 26 points, following on from his success in December when he landed his first monthly award.
Vokes remained second for the month on 22 points with Ben Mee, with the Leicester points added, coming in third with 20 points.
As for the player of the year; there was no change at all at the top with only Jason Shackell of the top three playing in the game. Arfield moved within three points of becoming the fourth player to reach a century.
Currently, and until the end of tomorrow, you can vote for the March goal of the month and on Saturday, within an hour of the final whistle, the man of the match vote for the Watford game will be available.
