A nine goal choice for January

For the next three days you have the opportunity to vote for your favourite of those goals as we choose the Clarets Mad Goal of the Month.

The first three goals came on New Year's Day in the home win against Huddersfield. Danny Ings got the first two, the first following our trademark corner routine and the second after he eventually collected the ball from Kieran Trippier, found space for himself and shot into the far corner.

Trippier got the third as he made a break clear of the defenders, got into the box and took it past the goalkeeper before finishing sensationally from a tight angle, the ball going on off the bar. It was a first ever Turf Moor league goal for Tripps.

It was on to Southampton next in the FA Cup. Two goals behind at the interval we were soon level. Vokes got the first, heading across the goalkeeper to convert a Dean Marney cross, and then Ings, having got the better of a defender, scored from the tightest of angles.

We went out, but not before Kevin Long scored his first ever Burnley goal, bundling in a late corner.

One week later we won 2-1 at Yeovil and it was the deadly duo of Ings and Vokes again. Ings scored with a superb finish from distance before Vokes made it 2-0, finishing from close range after good work from Marney.

With two home games to come in the month we might have expected to go into double figures, but there was to be just one more, from Sam Vokes in the 1-1 draw against Wednesday. He finished expertly after being played in by Marney.

Once you've made your choice, just enter via the front page of the site or directly from the VOTING POLLS page. The vote will run until midnight on Friday and the winner will be guaranteed a place in the Goal of the Season vote in May.
