A choice of eight for the best goal in March

February winner Jay Rodriguez

We scored ten goals during the month but one of those was an own goal from Nyron Nosworthy at Watford and another, the goal in the home draw against Crystal Palace, came from the penalty spot. That has left a choice of eight goals for you to choose from.

The first of those goals was our opener at Watford when Jay Rodriguez latched onto a ball headed back by Watford defender Adrian Mariappa and finished expertly past Tomasz Kuszczak to give us a 1-0 lead in a game we ultimately lost 3-2.

After the 1-1 draw against Palace we had the shut outs at Cardiff (0-0) and Ipswich (0-1) before drawing 2-2 with West Ham at home. We led 2-0 after Marvin Bartley and then Martin Paterson scored in the first half.

The first came when Paterson flicked on a ball in from the right from Ross Wallace with Bartley expertly taking the ball past James Tomkins before squeezing his shot in against Rob Green.

The second was created by Ben Mee who crossed right footed from the left. Paterson got in front of the defenders to get enough on it to beat Green.

The three goals to choose from became eight in the last game of the month as we went nap at Fratton Park against Portsmouth.

Kieran Trippier got the first from the well worked corner routine and Danny Ings added the second just past half time with his first Burnley goal, heading in a David Edgar cross. Then it was all down to Charlie Austin who came on as a substitute and grabbed himself his first professional hat trick.

He netted from close range from a Wallace free kick, latched onto an awful back pass from Pompey defender Jason Pearce to get his second and within a couple of minutes had completed that hat trick as he blasted in when Josh McQuoid found him unmarked in the box.

There are your eight choices - Rodriguez, Bartley, Paterson, Trippier, Ings and three from Austin and the vote, which can be found on the front page or the VOTING POLLS page will run until the end of Friday.

The winning goal will automatically be entered into the Goal of the Season vote where it will be joined by previous monthly winners which are Austin (August v Burton Albion), Andre Amougou (September v MK Franchise), Wallace (October v Blackpool), Rodriguez (November v Hull City), Trippier (December v Brighton & Hove Albion), Austin (January v Leeds United) and Rodriguez (February v Peterborough United).
