Burnley's under-11s will be kicking off tonight against host team Paola Hibs in an International Tournament being played in Malta this weekend.
Eight teams are taking part and over the next three days our young team will play against the other seven, including Hereford United who are England's only other representatives. That will mean three games on Sunday for our team but the games are just 30 minutes each.
It's a well established youth tournament and when Clarets Mad were approached by the club recently we were delighted to make a £3,000 towards it for one of our younger teams.
The Burnley team won't be without support either. Joe Vella, a Burnley supporter from Malta, and a regular on the Clarets Mad message board, will be there to offer his support and he tells me that he even has a relative playing against us in the first game.
Good luck to our lads, and most of all I hope they enjoy the experience of playing in this tournament and representing our club.
