A weekend trip to Reading and Newbury to end the season

Last updated : 14 April 2014 By Tony Scholes

It all gets underway with a 10 a.m. coach departure from Turf Moor on Friday 2nd May. There will be a stop in Banbury on the journey down before reaching the destination which is the Hilton Hotel at Newbury, situated around half a mile south of the town centre and close to the racecourse.

All rooms in the hotel boast a Wi-Fi connection, in room refreshments and a 32" LCD TV.

A three-course dinner has been booked in the hotel restaurant Stubbs on the Friday evening.

After breakfast on Saturday there will be time to explore Newbury before the coach departs from the hotel for the short journey to the Madejski in good time for the 12:15 p.m. kick off and will return after the final whistle.

Again a three course meal is booked for Saturday evening at the hotel.

The coach will depart on Sunday morning either via the Cotswolds or the shopping outlet at Bicester with a planned stop at Stratford-on-Avon for refreshments at the Pen & Parchment before journeying back to Burnley.

The cost of the weekend, which includes all coach travel and bed, breakfast and dinner at the Hilton is £145 per person based on sharing a double or twin room. Single room occupancy will cost a further £55.
