And now to Bury

It's been all change at both clubs since we met in our first pre-season game a year ago. Then Alan Knill and Brian Laws were the two men in charge, but Knill departed for Scunthorpe towards the end of last season and that gave Richie Barker the opportunity to stake a claim for the job.

The youth coach took it with both hands and was handed the job permanently in the summer, although it did look for a time as though it might go to Neil McDonald who is now back with Sam Allardyce at West Ham.

Bury, like us, got off to a winning start with a 5-1 win at Radcliffe Borough and they will have their one summer signing, defender Mark Hughes, on show tonight.

They too fielded 22 different players in their game but that included some trialists and some of their youth team players. It is expected they will field a much stronger team tonight although the trialists, Jason Marr and Chris Shuker, could be involved.

Eddie Howe will have Charlie Austin available but unfortunately both Brian Jensen and Tyrone Mears are ruled out. Mears has a slight problem with an achilles tendon whilst Jensen isn't feeling well.

Grant will start in goal again but tonight could give Jon Stewart an opportunity should manager Eddie Howe opt to use him in the second half.

Burnley will, however, see the return of Charlie Austin who sat out Saturday's win at Altrincham.

Last season's encounter ended in a 3-0 win for Burnley with goals from Ross Wallace, Steven Thompson and Chris Eagles.
