We are at a stage where draws are no good to us

Burnley come face to face with former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson for the first time and he's made it clear that his side have to go on the attack from the off against the Clarets.

"We have to go for it, but hopefully make some better decisions defensively," said Eriksson who saw his side draw 3-3 at Middlesbrough last week. "We have to score goals. We have no other choice. It could be season-defining if we don't win tomorrow.

"I said that before the Middlesbrough game as well, but it is a crazy league. Every game is one less and if you want to recover points we have to win tomorrow. It is that easy. We have to concentrate on the next game and if we win that then we will take it from there."

He added: "Conceding goals has been our problem all season. We concede goals too easily. It is a repetition of the season. We have seven games to go. If we go on scoring three goals away against a good team like Middlesbrough but only come home with one point, it is very frustrating.

"Mathematically, we can still make the play offs.

"One of the things I have told the players is to prepare for tomorrow as good as they possibly can, and go out and win it. If we do that and things go our way, who knows? We have the chance to make the play offs so we shouldn't stop playing and think the season is over, because it is not."

Whilst Leicester were drawing last Saturday, Burnley were suffering a third defeat in four games, and Eddie Howe has also sounded the battle cry ahead of tomorrow's game.

He sees his team travel to the East Midlands twice on four days and ahead of the first one at Leicester, said: "Leicester and Nottingham Forest are two really tough games but I would like to think it will bring out the best in us.

"We are not in great form at the minute; there's no getting away from it. We need to produce better performances, we are working towards that and I am hopeful that these two tough games will bring out the best in everybody.

"Things can change around very quickly and there's still all to play for, but I think we need to try and win both the games. We are at a stage in the season where draws are no good to us.

"First and foremost I am looking for a performance and the team to click back into gear and that will please me more than anything."

Burnley had got within a result of the top six but the disappointing run has seen us drop to six points away, and Howe added: "We are where we are for a reason. We haven't played very well in the last four games and we need to improve collectively.

"Everyone is going to have to play well from 1 to 11 in the next two games and that's the challenge we are going to throw down to the players to try and get the reaction we want.

"Nothing is new to me in football. In management you are either up or you are down. There are very few times you are in the middle, so it's a case of keeping level headed and make rational decisions to move the club forward every day. That's what we are trying to do."
